Race Day Glamour at Kulin Bush Races 2025: Maree Gooch Joins in on Fashions on the Field

The Kulin Bush Races 2025 weren’t just about horsepower, this iconic Western Australia event celebrates style, spirit and country camaraderie.

Maree Gooch, Chairperson of CRISP, swapped her boardroom heels for race day glamour, entering Fashions on the Field 2025 and proving that leadership looks just as sharp in linen as it does in strategy.

Fashions on the Field: Style Takes Centre Stage in the Wheatbelt

Held each October in the heart of Western Australia, the Kulin Bush Races draw thousands of visitors to revel in community, country hospitality and good old fashioned fun. And when it comes to style stakes, “Fashions on the Field” is the event that stops the paddock.

Maree stepped out in her signature CRISP Orange linen blazer, paired with a long black satin dress and black boots fit for country ground. A black sculptural fascinator topped it off, stylish, strong, and perfectly her.

Western Australia Race Day Fashion with Heart

Fashions on the Field might look like it’s about outfits, but it’s really about people. Maree joined in to show support for the rural community and share in the day’s energy, not to take home a trophy.

What made this year’s Fashions on the Field truly unforgettable wasn’t just the couture, it was the camaraderie. The crowd was full of laughter, cheers and friendly chatter. When the winners were announced, one moment stood out. Prize winner, Monica the “Op Shop Queen”, overwhelmed by surprise, held back tears as she accepted her prize. Around her, the crowd cheered louder, smiles all round.

One CRISP team member turned to another audience member and said, “I’m crying, are you crying?”

The woman beside her laughed through tears and said, “I’m crying.”

That moment summed up the spirit of the day, unity over rivalry, connection over competition.

Fashion’s on the field showcase the colour, creativity, and confidence that define the Kulin spirit. And as Maree mingled with locals, posed for photos, cheered for others, she embodied what makes these country events so magnetic, authentic connection and just having a laugh.
